travel to new places
Today the two of us, sans children will enter the Moultrie Courthouse with our $35.00 in hand and our paperwork complete and will apply for a marriage license. Our Nation’s Capital; the place that I travel to every day for work; the place where we lived up until 2004; the place where we met that strange day after 9/11; has made it possible for my partner and I to be married, legally.
“Why Lucas?” That was what one of my family members asked me recently while on a visit back home. I had to think back six months and try to remember. It seems like it was a long process though I’m not sure why. How hard is it to pick a name for your kid? If memory serves, it turns out really hard. Read the rest of this entry »
I learned late last night that June 1 (today) is Blogging for LGBT Families Day 2009 and now, here I sit with just about an hour left to crank out a post. As Florida Evans from Good Times would say…”Damn damn damn!”
Given that it takes me a good week-at-a-time to write anything coherent, this is not going to be easy. I’m thinking “brief and to the point” should be my motto for the next hour or so, otherwise I might as well just save this post for 2010.
