All in all, not a bad 12 days. I gave up some things…
- pumpkin scones and grande soy no-whip hot chocolate from Starbucks
- pumpkin chocolate chip muffins from Whole Foods
- chocolate bundt cake slices from the kosher deli in the building across from office
- Flamer’s fried fish sandwiches and fries
- chocolate chip cookies and milk after dinner
- bagels
- juice
- The elevator

About a week ago, I stepped onto the bathroom scale and read the unvarnished, plus-sized truth: I can officially find work as the Pillsbury Dough Boy body-double.
I won’t bore you with the details of my arrival at this rather colossal point. The summary is that, in the past 11 years, I’ve exercised incrementally less and eaten cookies and cake exponentially more. Read the rest of this entry »
